My Cat's Best Friend is a Fake!

My cat cracks me up. He is our only pet and is spoiled for sure. My mother-in-law even calls him her "grandcat" and buys him gifts. (As a sidebar, yes, the M-O-L is absolutely desperate for grandchildren - Ugh.) Anyways, about a year ago my husband's grandmother passed away. An item "bequeathed" to my husband was one of those fake life-size cats you can buy at the mall. I know you've seen them! These fake cats look very lifelike and have fur/whiskers; all the fixings. So, my real cat must be lonely because he totally took a liking to this thing. Our cat will hang out by the pseudo-cat and rub against it like he's found his new best friend. I've even caught our cat curled up by fake kitty. What prompted me to write this was my own laughter; I was on the computer trying to figure out what a hub is and how to become a hubber, when I looked down and saw the cat spread out by the dud. He looked so content. It was incredibly funny, but at the same time kind of sad. Such is life...
